I am an Accountant who qualified 20 years ago with the
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Previously, I was an
electronics design engineer, a career I followed after gaining an
honours degree in Electronics at Southampton
University I was educated at Christ's
Hospital, the "Blue Coat School" at Horsham, Sussex.
I have worked in the electronics, music and computer
industry for 20 years and have broad business, auditing and
financial experience. My particular skills are in computer
assisted financial and operational audits; data mining; and the due
diligence of acquisitions and their eventual integration. I
place particular emphasis on meeting deadlines in a controlled
manner.
I am fully computer literate on both mainframe (S/390
MVS and VM) computers and have excellent knowledge of PC hardware,
networks, application software, e-mail systems and programming
languages. Being fully computer literate allows me to become
effective quickly and so improve my contribution to our organisation.
I maintain the Redoak computers on our network.
I have recently completed the integration of the
finance systems and processes of a number of acquired subsidiaries
(turnover £100 million+) into our parent company. My current
projects are the integration of four further acquisitions. I
have also spent some time working on the defence of
Inland Revenue and HMC&E investigations for which my skills are
a good match.
One thing we must remember is that accounting is all
about juggling the numbers; not mixing up credits and debits and not
confusing the $ and £. I have not added the Euro as it's
value is so unstable.
Can you see that flying pig(gy) bank?
