Welcome to the Hayling Island Community Board web site. Here you will find details of:

The Mission of the Hayling Island Community Board (HICB) which is to improve the quality of life for Hayling's residents. Our functions, interests and activity areas are recorded here.

You will also find details of what Hayling Island has to offer residents and visitors here.

Members of the HICB are elected for a term of up to three years at the end of which they are required to stand for election. Current Community Board members are here.

The HICB holds monthly meetings and the location, agenda and minutes of our meetings since 2007 are available on our web site here.

The HICB are involved in many projects and details of these are available here.

The Pride Of Place centre at the Bridge Church in Beach Road offers advice to residents and further details are here.

Many events take place on Hayling Island during the year and the main events are here.

Our Planning Group review all planning applications that affect Hayling Island and comment as appropriate. You may obtain further details on planning matters here.

Common Signage

These signs are part of the common signage within the Borough of Havant. This sign is on the left just past the bridge as you come onto Hayling Island and another is by the Ferry.

Hayling Seaside Railway

Hayling Ferry

The railway runs between Beachlands and Eastoke Corner, stopping at Mengham Road Halt and passes through the SSI site and alongside Hayling's Blue Flag beaches. It is supported by volunteers and is well worth a ride. It operates daily in the summer and school holidays, and weekends and Wednesday market days throughout the year, further details may be found here.

The Hayling Ferry

Hayling Island may be accessed from the Ferry at Eastney in Portsmouth. The ferry can carry passengers and cycles and is a convenient way of getting to and from Portsmouth.  More details on the Hayling Ferry may be found here.
