I first became aware of the demutualisation of the Halifax Building Society when I received the letter below.





Following my father's death, this second page shows some notes I made indicating that we needed to top this account up by nearly £1,000 (which my brother was to fund on 17 January 1997 to preserve the maximum fixed and variable share bonus which we had been advised we would receive.



In the conversation I had with Jackie on 14 January 1997 from the Halifax Building Society, I was told the principle and accrued interest balance on the account.
