Halifax / HBOS Demutualisation Experience and Dispute

1. Summaries

1.1 One Paragraph

The purpose of this site is explain why we are dissatisfied with the way in which the Halifax have treated us.

My father died at the start of 1997 and while organising probate I was given inappropriate advice by the Halifax Building Society branch in Bognor Regis which led to my father's estate receiving a smaller demutualisation bonus that it could have received.

The Halifax were very slow in addressing my complaint which led to me taking legal action against the Halifax. However, the advice I had received was verbal and I was unable to prove this in Court and so I lost my claim.

Our family has since moved our mortgage and all investments from the Halifax with the exception of a strategic holding of 4 HBOS Ordinary Shares. These pages explain why on a matter of principle, I cannot accept the Court decision and the Halifax opinion that the matter is closed.

Please read through these web pages and if you agree, please write and complain to HBOS.

Thank you for visiting this web site.
